We specialize in building high-quality custom decks and outdoor living spaces throughout Central Missouri. We are looking for someone who already has a strong foundation in carpentry and construction and can confidently work with hand and power tools, take accurate measurements, perform layout and framing, and complete work with attention to detail. Previous deck-building experience is preferred but not required. An experienced carpenter with a strong background in framing, residential construction, or similar carpentry work can be trained on our specific deck-building methods, products, and quality standards. Responsibilities Build custom decks and outdoor living projects Perform framing, layout, decking, railing, and stair construction Measure, cut, and install materials accurately Safely and efficiently operate hand and power tools Assist with demolition and removal of existing structures when needed Load, unload, and organize project materials Identify and help solve construction challenges in the field Maintain a clean and organized jobsite Work efficiently with the crew while maintaining our quality standards What We're Looking For Previous carpentry or construction experience required Strong understanding of basic carpentry and framing Ability to accurately measure, cut, and lay out materials Comfortable and experienced using common construction tools Deck-building experience is a strong plus Dependable and shows up on time Strong work ethic and attention to detail Able to work independently as well as part of a crew Comfortable working outdoors and performing physical construction work Willing to learn our specific building methods and quality standards Reliable transportation We are looking for someone who takes pride in their craftsmanship and wants to continue developing their skills. There is opportunity for advancement for someone who demonstrates strong craftsmanship, reliability, leadership, and the ability to consistently complete work to our standards. We are looking for someone interested in becoming a valuable long-term member of the Designer Decks team, not simply filling a temporary position.
