We build for a range of designers and architects - every one of them brings a different aesthetic and a different level of detail, so no two jobs look alike. We also make our own millwork in-house, out of our Blind Rabbet shop, which means the details most builders sub out, we solve ourselves. The standard is high. That's the whole point of working here. The Role This is where craftspeople come to do their best work. You'll build high-end, design-driven residential projects alongside experienced leads who care about getting the details right and want you to succeed. Whether you're starting out or already skilled, the work is real and the standard is high. You'll be part of a small crew under a Lead Carpenter, working from architectural drawings on projects that run from full custom homes to detailed renovations. Moving between projects means you see more work, more detail, and more of what different designers ask for — it's the fastest way to build range. What You'll Do Frame, trim, and finish to a high standard on custom residential projects Install protection systems to keep the homes we work in pristine Install millwork and cabinetry, including pieces built in our own shop Work from architectural drawings and shop drawings and flag it when something on paper won't work in the field Keep a clean, organized, safe job site Coordinate day to day with your Lead Carpenter and the trades on site Take care of tools, materials, and the client's property What We're Looking For Real carpentry experience — residential preferred, but we'll talk to anyone who can demonstrate the skill and a desire to learn The ability to read a set of architectural drawings, build to them and point out when the site conditions differ. Someone who speaks up early when something doesn't line up, instead of building it wrong and hoping Reliable. Shows up, on time, ready to work Comfortable working as part of a crew — teaching when you know something, asking when you don't. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation. Our work generally runs between Lawrence and the Kansas City metro, and carpenters move between job sites as the work demands Nice to have: finish carpentry or millwork installation experience, familiarity with high-end residential detailing, OSHA 10.
