Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Lead Carpenter to oversee and execute complex construction projects with precision and leadership. In this role, you will coordinate carpentry activities on-site, manage team members, interpret blueprints and technical drawings, and ensure all work meets safety standards and quality expectations. The ideal candidate will bring extensive construction experience, a strong understanding of framing, masonry, metal building erection, and finishing techniques, along with excellent leadership abilities to guide a team through every phase of the project. This position offers an exciting opportunity to lead diverse projects from remodeling to restoration while fostering a safe and productive work environment. Responsibilities Lead and supervise carpentry crews in the installation of framing, trim, drywall, stucco, and other finish carpentry tasks. Read and interpret construction plans, schematics, blueprints, and technical drawings to ensure accurate execution of projects. Manage all aspects of metal building erection, including rebar installation, metal stud framing, and structural assembly. Oversee concrete forming, finishing, and rebar placement to meet project specifications and safety standards. Coordinate masonry work such as bricklaying, plastering, and restoration projects to ensure quality craftsmanship. Operate hand tools and power tools safely while maintaining equipment in optimal condition. Perform dimensional measurements using tape measures and other tools to ensure precise cuts and installations. Collaborate with project managers to plan daily tasks, estimate material needs, and adhere to construction schedules. Ensure compliance with safety protocols on-site by conducting regular inspections and training sessions for team members. Assist in interpreting technical schematics for welding, steel framing, or other specialized construction components. Support team development through mentoring apprentices or junior carpenters in proper techniques and safety practices. Skills Extensive experience in construction management with proven leadership capabilities on diverse job sites. Proficiency in blueprint reading, schematics interpretation, and technical drawing analysis. Strong knowledge of metal building erection processes including steel framing and rebar installation. Skilled in concrete forming techniques and finishing methods for smooth surfaces. Expertise in masonry work such as bricklaying, plastering, stucco application, and restoration projects. Ability to operate hand tools (hammers, chisels), power tools (drills, saws), welding equipment, and other construction machinery safely. Excellent understanding of dimensional measurements using tape measures and other precision tools. Familiarity with construction plans related to framing (wooden or metal), trim carpentry, drywall installation, and remodeling projects. Basic math skills necessary for accurate measurements and calculations during project planning. Experience working on various construction sites with a focus on safety compliance and quality standards.
