Living Room & Kitchen Renovation Location:
[ Springfield, MO ] Sentri Homes, a nationwide residential construction company, is looking for an experienced finish carpenter/trim contractor to complete an interior renovation project centered on a formal living room and kitchen. We partner with skilled crews on a project-by-project basis — and contractors who deliver quality, reliable work become part of our go-to network for recurring jobs across the country. The Job Homeowner recently purchased the home and wants to create a more intentional architectural separation between the formal living room and adjoining room by adding two new eyebrow-style arched openings on either side of an existing stone fireplace, along with traditional panel-style wainscoting, crown molding, and two kitchen cabinet modifications. Scope of Work Fireplace Archways Frame two eyebrow-style archways on either side of the existing fireplace, extending to existing overhead beams Integrate new framing with existing hearth/fireplace configuration Drywall, tape, mud, finish, and texture to coordinate with existing wall texture Create clean finished transitions between new drywall and existing stonework (rock is already installed — this transition will not appear fully seamless; no removal or addition of rock permitted) Paint new archway walls and adjacent affected areas to match existing living room wall color Protect existing hardwood flooring throughout MDF Wainscoting Install ~37 LF of 36"-high paint-grade MDF wainscoting with "picture frame" detailing and decorative top cap/trim At kitchen archway: terminate on living-room side only, no wrap into kitchen At the two fireplace archways: wrap through openings, terminate on adjacent-room side, no continuation along adjoining room walls Install vertical finish/termination trim at exposed stopping points Remove and reinstall existing baseboards over new MDF Fill, caulk, prime, and prep MDF and trim; finish in semi-gloss paint Prep and repaint existing baseboards in semi-gloss (white shade TBD by homeowner) Protect existing hardwood flooring throughout 5¼" Crown Molding install ~62 LF of 5¼" paint-grade MDF crown molding (exact profile/size to be confirmed by homeowner before materials are ordered) Fit and terminate cleanly at existing beams Fill, caulk, prep, and paint to match wainscoting white Cabinet Modification Install single-bin, door-mounted pull-out trash system in base cabinet left of sink Modify kitchen island cabinet drawer for homeowner-supplied microwave drawer and install appliance Final scope confirmed on-site once appliance model and cabinetry are verified Microwave Electrical Electrical work for microwave drawer installation Final scope/pricing confirmed on-site based on appliance specs, existing wiring, and panel capacity What We're Looking For Minimum 2+ years of finish carpentry/trim experience Comfortable with custom archway framing, drywall finish work, and detailed millwork (wainscoting with picture-frame trim, crown molding) Must have tools necessary to complete the job Reliable transportation and a disposal method for all trash and debris Must document work with before, during, and after photos throughout Pay $[To be discussed]
