Job Description
The Maintenance Carpenter performs skilled carpentry work in a variety of new and old construction, maintains and repairs various structures and facilities following recognized procedures and techniques of the carpentry trade using a variety of hand and power tools. Must have a vast and extensive knowledge of all facets of the carpentry and construction trade to, recognize, identify and fix or repair each job order while complying with all federal & local safety, health, environmental directives, hazardous waste disposal and the proper use of chemical substances common with construction. Exhibits superior workmanship and focuses on the quality end product, addresses customer concerns in a prompt, professional and courteous manner. Responsibilities Responsible to perform all assigned duties as safely and efficiently as possible to maintain a safe work environment. Performs a wide variety of carpentry related tasks, including new construction, remodeling, renovation and demolition. Constructs, repairs, restores and installs structures such as floors, doors, walls, windows, stairways, furniture, cabinets, shelves, and roofs. Builds forms, frames, ceilings and roofs with common materials to include lumber, plywood, wafer board, sheetrock, steel studs, foam board and cement board. Fabricates items according to designs, blueprints, drawings and sketches. Install and finish sheetrock to include patching and repairing. Installs tile, vinyl, carpet, acoustical, ceramic. Repair doors, roofs, ceilings, stairs, floors, windows and roll-up doors. Maintains equipment, ensures good housekeeping in shop areas, and work site area. Performs other duties or assignments as required. Qualifications Requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Requires vocational training or apprenticeship in the carpentry field or equivalent. Valid US Driver's License. Minimum of five (5) years documented experience in the Carpenter field, commercial and residential. Must have an excellent understanding of safety directives and polices regarding carpenter work. Job
