Carpenter Job Description This role involves performing a wide range of carpentry and construction tasks on both commercial and residential job sites. You will build, install, and repair structural components such as walls, doors, and windows while ensuring all work meets project specifications and quality standards. The position requires precise measuring and cutting, safe operation of tools, and the ability to support general construction activities on active job sites. Responsibilities Perform a variety of carpentry and construction duties on commercial and residential job sites. Build, install, and repair walls, doors, windows, and related structural components. Measure and cut lumber, siding, and other materials to precise dimensions. Hang, fasten, and finish drywall and exterior siding according to project requirements. Read and interpret blueprints and follow project specifications to complete tasks accurately. Assist with general construction duties, including site cleanup, material handling, and site preparation. Operate a variety of hand tools and power tools safely and efficiently. Use measuring tapes and layout tools daily to ensure accurate cuts and installations. Lift and carry materials weighing up to 50 pounds throughout the workday. Follow all safety procedures and contribute to maintaining a clean, organized job site. Essential Skills At least 2 years of carpentry experience in construction settings. Proficiency in general construction and carpentry, including framing and finish work. Ability to use hand tools safely and effectively. Ability to operate power tools commonly used in carpentry and construction. Ability to read and use a tape measure accurately. Experience working on commercial construction projects. Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds consistently throughout the workday. Ability to work both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience with finish carpentry and detailed interior work. Familiarity with hanging, fastening, and finishing drywall. Experience installing and finishing exterior siding. Ability to interpret blueprints and follow detailed project specifications. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship. Reliability and willingness to work overtime as needed to complete daily tasks. Why Work Here? Work Environment You will work Monday through Thursday from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with overtime available after the regular shift and continuing until the day's work is completed. The environment is an active construction setting where you will regularly use hand tools, power tools, measuring tapes, and layout tools while collaborating with other trades and team members on various job sites. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Helena, MT. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $28.00/hr.
