In this role, you will be responsible for setting up and assembling formwork for concrete sidewalks, ensuring precise alignment and stability to produce durable, high-quality surfaces. Your expertise will help bring construction plans to life, contributing to the safety and aesthetic appeal of community infrastructure. Duties Read and interpret construction plans, blueprints, and technical drawings to accurately construct sidewalk formwork according to specifications. Set up formwork using hand tools, power tools, and metal or wood materials, ensuring proper alignment, levelness, and stability. Install rebar reinforcement within forms to strengthen concrete structures as per engineering standards. Operate concrete mixers and facilitate concrete pouring into the formwork while maintaining safety protocols. Use concrete cutting, finishing, and plastering techniques to achieve smooth surfaces and precise edges. Adhere strictly to construction workplace safety regulations, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safe handling of heavy materials. Collaborate with team members on site to ensure timely completion of projects, including renovation or repair work involving concrete or masonry elements. Requirements Proven experience working on construction projects involving concrete forming, finishing, or masonry work. Mechanical knowledge combined with hands-on experience using hand tools, power tools, and heavy equipment such as concrete mixers and pumps. Ability to read blueprints accurately and interpret technical specifications related to formwork construction. Knowledge of construction estimating processes is a plus for understanding project scope and resource needs. Familiarity with construction workplace safety regulations is essential for maintaining a safe working environment.
