Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a motivated and skilled Carpenter/Laborer to join our dynamic construction team. In this role, you will be an essential part of residential and commercial projects, performing a variety of carpentry and labor tasks to bring building plans to life. Your expertise will help ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards. This position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your skills in a fast-paced environment while contributing to meaningful construction projects. We have contracts for the next six months for NYS Prevailing Wage work secured non-union shop. Duties Read and interpret construction plans, blueprints, and technical drawings to execute precise carpentry work. Use hand tools and power tools for woodworking, framing, trim carpentry, cabinet installation, door hanging, siding, and fixture installation. Operate woodworking machines safely and efficiently to cut, shape, and assemble wood materials for various projects. Perform heavy lifting and physical tasks such as rebar installation, concrete forming, plastering, and water damage restoration. Assist with remodeling, restoration projects, mold remediation, and water damage repairs ensuring quality craftsmanship. Install various building components including doors, cabinets, siding, flooring, stucco, caulking, and metal stud framing. Follow safety protocols related to power tool operation, construction site safety, and material handling to maintain a safe work environment. Requirements OSHA10 Card Your own Carpentry Tools and transportation to the local Capital District job sites. Proven construction experience with a strong background in carpentry. Ability to read blueprints and construction plans accurately or able to learn the skill. Skilled in using hand tools and power tools specific to woodworking and framing tasks. Experience with residential carpentry projects such as trim work, door hanging, cabinet installation, flooring installation, roofing and siding. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently on construction sites. Strong understanding of power tool safety standards and proper handling techniques. Pay:
