Job Description
Overview We are seeking a skilled and motivated deck builder or carpenter to help with jobs. In this role, you will be responsible for installing custom decks that meet client specifications and safety standards. Your expertise in carpentry, woodworking, and construction will ensure the delivery of high-quality outdoor living spaces that enhance our clients' homes. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on diverse projects, utilize advanced tools and techniques, and contribute to beautiful, durable outdoor structures. Responsibilities Read and interpret construction plans, blueprints, and technical drawings to accurately execute deck designs. Measure, cut, assemble, and install deck components using hand tools and power tools for woodworking with precision and safety. Prepare construction sites by framing, setting footings, and ensuring proper foundation work for decks. Installing appropriate wood construction materials such as treated lumber, composite decking, and other outdoor building supplies. Perform heavy lifting and physical tasks required for framing, siding, railing installation, and finishing touches. Ensure all work complies with safety standards including power tool safety protocols and proper use of personal protective equipment. Collaborate with team members to complete projects efficiently while maintaining high quality standards. Assist with related tasks such as trim carpentry, fixture installation, caulking, stucco work, or siding as needed for comprehensive project completion. Experience REQUIRED-Proven experience in residential carpentry with a focus on deck building or outdoor structures. Strong knowledge of construction estimating, blueprint reading, and interpreting technical drawings. Hands-on experience using hand tools, power tools for woodworking, woodworking machines, and metal stud framing equipment. Prior experience with water damage restoration or heavy lifting tasks is a plus. Demonstrated understanding of construction plans related to framing, siding, fixture installation, door hanging, and other residential carpentry tasks. Knowledge of construction estimating processes and safety protocols related to power tools for woodworking and general construction site safety standards.
