Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Lead Carpenter to oversee and execute a variety of construction projects with precision and expertise. As the Lead Carpenter, you will be responsible for managing carpentry crews, interpreting blueprints and technical drawings, and ensuring that all work meets safety standards, quality expectations, and project deadlines. Your leadership will drive the success of construction initiatives across residential, commercial, or industrial sites, delivering craftsmanship that exceeds client expectations. This role offers an exciting opportunity to showcase your construction management skills while mentoring team members and contributing to high-quality building projects. Duties Lead and coordinate carpentry teams on multiple projects, ensuring efficient workflow and adherence to safety protocols. Read and interpret construction plans, schematics, and technical drawings to accurately execute framing, trim carpentry, drywall installation, siding, roofing, and other building components. Oversee metal building erection, metal stud framing, rebar installation, concrete forming, finishing, and restoration tasks with precision. Operate hand tools, power tools, heavy equipment, and specialized machinery safely and effectively to complete tasks efficiently. Manage material ordering, inventory control, and ensure proper use of resources on-site. Conduct quality inspections to verify dimensional measurements, alignment, surface finishes such as plastering or stucco, and overall craftsmanship standards. Collaborate with project managers to interpret construction plans and schedules; provide accurate estimates of time and materials needed for each phase of work. Mentor junior team members in proper carpentry techniques and safety procedures while fostering a culture of teamwork and continuous improvement. Skills Extensive experience in construction site management with a strong background in carpentry disciplines including framing, trim work, drywall installation, siding, roofing, masonry, and restoration. Proficiency in blueprint reading, schematics interpretation, technical drawings analysis, and understanding construction plans. Skilled in metal building erection, rebar installation, concrete forming & finishing as well as drywall finishing techniques. Ability to operate hand tools, power tools (such as saws and drills), heavy equipment (including lifts), and specialized machinery safely. Strong knowledge of construction safety standards; ability to enforce safety protocols on-site effectively. Basic math skills for measurements; proficiency with tape measures; understanding of dimensional measurements for precise craftsmanship. Experience with welding techniques where applicable; familiarity with schematics related to structural components. Excellent communication skills for coordinating with team members; ability to interpret technical instructions accurately. Physical capability for heavy lifting; stamina for working on elevated surfaces or in confined spaces; commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.
