Job Summary:
AZ Design Build Management is seeking a skilled and motivated Carpenter to join our construction team. The ideal candidate has experience in residential construction and remodeling and takes pride in quality craftsmanship, attention to detail, jobsite organization, and being a dependable member of a team. Carpenters at AZDBM are responsible for performing a wide range of construction and carpentry tasks throughout the production process. This position works closely with Lead Carpenters, Production Managers, and other members of the construction team to complete projects safely, efficiently, and to the quality standards expected by our company and our clients. The Carpenter role is an opportunity for an individual who wants to continue developing their technical skills, construction knowledge, and ability to take ownership of their work while growing within AZ Design Build Management. Key Responsibilities Perform a wide range of residential construction and remodeling tasks, including: Framing and structural carpentry Interior and exterior trim Door and window installation Cabinet and millwork installation Flooring and finish carpentry Siding and exterior work Drywall, blocking, and miscellaneous carpentry Demolition and site preparation Follow construction documents, plans, specifications, and instructions provided by the Lead Carpenter and Production Manager. Complete assigned work accurately, efficiently, and with attention to detail. Understand and follow manufacturer installation instructions and applicable building codes. Work collaboratively with Lead Carpenters, Production Managers, subcontractors, and other members of the construction team. Communicate questions, concerns, material needs, and potential problems before they become issues. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe jobsite throughout the workday. Properly use, maintain, and secure company tools, equipment, and personal tools. Assist with material handling, deliveries, jobsite protection, and general project preparation as needed. Participate in jobsite meetings, toolbox talks, safety training, and company training programs. Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, quality, and jobsite organization. Take ownership of assigned tasks from start to completion. Assist in training and supporting apprentices and less-experienced team members when appropriate. Represent AZ Design Build Management professionally while working in and around our clients' homes. Follow all AZDBM company policies, jobsite procedures, safety requirements, and standards of conduct. Qualifications 2-5+ years of carpentry or residential construction experience , depending on skill level. Demonstrated knowledge of residential construction methods, materials, tools, and equipment. Ability to perform common carpentry tasks with limited supervision. Ability to read and understand basic construction drawings, plans, specifications, and measurements. Strong understanding of safe tool and equipment operation. Strong attention to detail and pride in workmanship. Ability to troubleshoot problems and ask appropriate questions when something is unclear. Dependable, punctual, and accountable. Strong communication and teamwork skills. Willingness to learn and develop additional construction skills. Ability to work independently while also taking direction from Lead Carpenters and Project Managers. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation. Ability to lift and carry construction materials and work in physically demanding conditions. Work Environment Work is primarily performed on residential construction and remodeling jobsites throughout the Ithaca area and surrounding communities. Work may involve exposure to varying weather conditions, dust, noise, heights, hazardous materials, and other typical construction hazards. Position requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, climbing, lifting, carrying, and working in physically demanding conditions. Employees are expected to follow all company safety policies, OSHA requirements, applicable NYS requirements, and project-specific safety procedures. Occasional early mornings, extended workdays, or other schedule adjustments may be required based on project needs. Pay:
$26.00 - $35.00 per hour Expected hours: No less than 34.0 per week
