90 day probation - $65,000-70,000 based on experience.
Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Lead Carpenter to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in residential and/or light commercial carpentry, with the ability to lead a team, interpret construction documents, and ensure high-quality craftsmanship. As a Lead Carpenter, you will oversee on-site carpentry work, mentor crew members, and collaborate with project managers to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee and perform all aspects of carpentry, including framing, trim work, cabinetry, and finishing. Lead and supervise a team of carpenters and laborers/apprentices, ensuring quality and efficiency. Read and interpret construction documents, technical drawings, and project specifications in the jobsite binder & jobsite documents. Ensure compliance with building codes, safety regulations, and company policies. Collaborate with project managers to coordinate schedules, materials, and trade partners. Conduct site inspections to assess progress and troubleshoot any issues. Coordinate site inspections with appropriate municipalities. Maintain tools, equipment, and job site cleanliness. Train and mentor junior carpenters and laborers/apprentices.
Qualifications:
Minimum 5-8+ years of carpentry experience, with at least 2 years in a leadership role . Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and tools. Ability to read and interpret construction documents, schematics, construction specifications, and schedules. Experience with residential and/or commercial construction projects. Excellent problem-solving and leadership skills. Strong communication and teamwork abilities. Ability to lift heavy materials and work in various weather conditions. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
Work Environment:
Work may involve exposure to various weather conditions, hazardous materials, and challenging physical conditions. The position may require on-call availability for emergencies.
