Modern Luxury Remodeling is hiring a reliable Lead Carpenter / Basement Remodeler for a residential basement renovation in New Hyde Park, NY. This is a temporary full-time project expected to last approximately 6-7 weeks, beginning the week of September 28, 2026. The regular schedule is Monday through Friday, approximately 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, with occasional Saturday work depending on the project schedule. The project includes a basement renovation with new rooms, a laundry area, bathroom work, drywall, flooring, doors, trim, tile, and kitchen cabinet installation.

Responsibilities may include:

Protecting existing finishes and maintaining a clean jobsite Selective demolition and debris cleanup Framing the bathroom bump-out, laundry room, bedroom, and living-room walls Framing door openings and installing blocking/backing Insulation and soundproofing assistance Hanging, taping, mudding, sanding, and finishing drywall Installing approximately 500 square feet of LVP flooring Installing interior doors and bifold doors Installing baseboard, door casing, and window casing Installing bathroom floor tile and shower tile Shower waterproofing Installing kitchen cabinets General finish carpentry and punch-list work Coordinating with the GC and other trade partners Providing daily progress updates and photos

Required:

Proven residential remodeling experience Ability to follow a written scope and daily assignments Reliable transportation to New Hyde Park Basic hand and power tools Reliable attendance and communication Ability to work cleanly and respectfully in a client's home Ability to complete a paid test day Experience with basement renovations, drywall finishing, LVP, bathroom tile, waterproofing, doors, trim, and kitchen cabinet installation is preferred. Pay is $25-$35 per hour, depending on verified skill and reliability. Milestone bonuses may be available for defined work completed on schedule and without avoidable rework. This is a project-based position with potential for additional work on future residential projects if the fit is strong.
