Carpenter/Framer/Metal Studs FSI General Contractors Rochester, NY Job Details Full-time $28 - $45 an hour 2 hours ago Benefits Health insurance Dental insurance 401(k) Paid time off Vision insurance 401(k) matching Life insurance Qualifications Carpentry Drywall Outdoor work experience Power tools for woodworking OSHA 10 Ladder use Driver's License Construction plans Construction drawing review Attention to detail Commercial construction experience Construction experience Full Job Description Drywaller/Carpenter Job Description Perform wood and metal stud framing for commercial construction projects Read, interpret construction drawings, blueprints, and building layouts Hang, finish, and repair drywall Install drop and acoustical ceilings Install hollow metal doors, frames, and hardware Perform commercial exterior framing and siding installation Complete wood trim, finish carpentry, and cabinet installation Install millwork and other architectural finishes Perform demolition and selective demolition as required Operate a variety of hand and power tools safely and effectively Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area Communicate effectively with supervisors, project managers, and other trades Follow all company safety policies, OSHA requirements, and job-site procedures Requirements 3+ years of carpentry/framing experience preferred Commercial construction experience preferred Ability to read and understand blueprints, plans, and building layouts Solid working knowledge of construction methods, materials, and safe practices Strong attention to detail and pride in quality workmanship Dependable, punctual, and professional on every job site Comfortable working independently and as part of a team Willingness to travel to multiple job sites based on project schedules Your own basic set of hand tools; comfortable operating standard power tools OSHA 10-hour certification preferred (training provided for qualified employees) Physical Requirements This is an active, hands-on role.
Candidates should be able to:
Lift and carry materials weighing up to 75 lbs Bend, stoop, kneel, climb, dig, and work from ladders or lifts Stand and perform repetitive motions for extended periods Work in varying weather conditions and job-site environments Safely perform physically demanding construction tasks throughout the shift
