Entry Level Construction & Field Operations Location:
Victor, NY Schedule:
Full-Time | Monday-Friday | Approx. 7:00 AM - 3:00
PM Compensation:
$20-$30/hour entry-level

Benefits Eligible Curran Development Group is partnering with a reputable commercial construction firm serving the Rochester and Western New York region to hire a motivated entry-level Carpenter for hands-on roles in construction and field operations. This is a hands-on opportunity for someone who enjoys working with their hands, wants to build practical construction skills, and is interested in developing a long-term career in carpentry. The Entry-Level Carpenter will work alongside experienced carpenters and field leaders while gaining exposure to a variety of commercial and industrial construction activities. Projects may involve a mix of indoor and outdoor work, including carpentry, framing, drywall, finish work, demolition, excavation support, material handling, and general construction activities, depending on the needs of each project. The ideal candidate is dependable, hardworking, willing to learn, and comfortable working in an active jobsite environment. Previous construction or carpentry experience is helpful, but we are equally interested in candidates with strong mechanical aptitude, transferable hands-on skills, and the right attitude. Schedule & Location Typical schedule: Monday-Friday, approximately 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM Overtime opportunities may be available based on project needs but are not required Based out of Victor, NY Most jobsites are located within approximately one hour of Victor Responsibilities Assist with commercial and industrial carpentry activities, including wood and metal stud framing, drywall, ceilings, doors, cabinetry, millwork, insulation, and concrete work. Work alongside experienced carpenters and field leaders to develop hands-on carpentry and construction skills. Assist with demolition, site preparation, foundations, masonry, and other general construction activities as needed. Measure, cut, assemble, install, and repair construction materials under appropriate supervision. Safely operate basic hand tools, cordless power tools, and other construction equipment. Learn to read and interpret basic construction drawings, measurements, and layouts. Follow instructions, communicate effectively with supervisors and coworkers, and contribute to a productive team environment. Follow company and OSHA safety requirements and maintain a clean, organized jobsite. Take increasing responsibility for carpentry tasks as skills and experience develop. Qualifications Some previous experience in construction, carpentry, skilled trades, maintenance, manufacturing, or another hands-on work environment is preferred but not required. Interest in developing a career in commercial carpentry and construction. Basic familiarity with hand tools and power tools preferred. Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn new skills. Ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a field team. Ability to perform physically demanding work, including lifting approximately 50 lbs., climbing, bending, standing, and working in varying jobsite conditions. Valid NYS Driver's License and reliable transportation. Dependable attendance, strong work ethic, positive attitude, and attention to detail.
