Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Lead Carpenter to join our dynamic construction team. In this pivotal role, you will oversee and execute complex carpentry projects, ensuring precision, safety, and quality at every stage. As a leader on the site, you will coordinate with team members, interpret technical drawings, and manage multiple aspects of construction from framing to finishing. Your expertise will drive the successful completion of diverse projects, including metal building erection, remodeling, and custom carpentry work. This position offers an exciting opportunity to showcase your craftsmanship while leading by example in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities Lead and supervise carpentry crews to ensure projects are completed efficiently, safely, and to high standards of quality. Interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and construction plans to guide project execution accurately. Perform and oversee metal building erection, metal stud framing, and rebar installation with precision. Execute concrete forming, finishing, and masonry tasks to meet project specifications. Manage drywall installation, plastering, stucco application, siding work, and trim carpentry for diverse projects. Operate hand tools and power tools safely while maintaining equipment in optimal condition. Coordinate with project managers to plan daily activities, order materials, and ensure adherence to project timelines. Conduct dimensional measurements using tape measures and other tools for accurate framing and layout work. Ensure all work complies with safety standards and construction regulations on-site. Mentor junior carpenters and tradespeople to develop their skills and promote teamwork. Requirements Proven experience in construction management with a strong background in carpentry disciplines such as framing, trim work, drywall, siding, and remodeling. Extensive knowledge of metal building erection, concrete forming, rebar installation, welding, masonry, and plastering techniques. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and construction plans accurately. Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, tape measures, and other essential construction equipment. Strong understanding of dimensional measurements and basic math skills necessary for precise craftsmanship. Experience working on construction sites with a focus on safety protocols and efficient workflow management. Skilled in interpreting technical drawings related to metal stud framing and other specialized systems. Physical ability to perform heavy lifting and perform tasks requiring stamina over long shifts.
