Carpenter Dorman Construction Inc Springfield, OR Job Details Full-time $30 - $35 an hour 6 hours ago Benefits Health savings account Health insurance Dental insurance 401(k) Paid time off On-the-job training Employee assistance program Vision insurance Opportunities for advancement Tools provided Qualifications Carpentry Renovation Interior fit-out carpentry Building finishing Commercial carpentry Residential carpentry Caulking Full Job Description Performs multiple job duties for commercial and residential new construction or remodeling projects to include siding, decks, painting, finish work, dismantling, constructing, erecting, installing, and repairing structures of wood, plywood, wallboard, tile or flooring surface, using carpenter's hand tools and power tools and conforming to local building codes. Task may include any of the following: Follows sketches or building plans for information pertaining to type of material required. Marks cutting and assembly lines on materials using pencil, chalk, and marking gage. Shapes materials to prescribed measurements, using saws, chisels, and planes. Assembles cut and shaped materials and fastens them together with nails, dowel pins, or glue. Verifies trueness of structure with plumb bob and carpenter's level. Erects framework for structures and lays subflooring. Covers subfloor with building paper to keep out moisture. Installs hardwood floor or tile. Mixes ingredients to create compounds for tile projects. Installs new doors, windows, and trim. Fits and installs prefabricated window frames, doors, door frames, weather stripping, interior and exterior trim, and finish hardware, such as locks, letter drops, and kick plates. Applies caulking compounds by hand or with caulking gun to seal crevices. Erects scaffolding and ladders for assembling structures above ground level. Installs siding, builds decks, and may do touch-up painting. May help haul and hoist building materials.
