A Carpenter builds and repairs wood frameworks or structures for houses and buildings, or builds and installs wood cabinets, furniture or other fixtures. May specialize in residential, commercial or industrial carpentry.

JOB OVERVIEW
The carpenter is responsible for building, installing, erecting, dismantling, and/or repairing structures, fixtures, cabinetry, and other items using different types of materials including wood and steel. DUTIES Perform rough and finish carpentry tasks, including framing, installing doors, windows, drywall, trim and flooring Construct, install, and repair structures, fixtures, and building frameworks using wood, metal and other materials Ability to read a tape measure to measure, cut, and shape materials accurately using hand and power tool Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, project plans Safely operate carpentry tools including saws, drills, planners, nail guns, levels, and measuring equipment Assist with loading, unloading, and transporting materials Use required PPE such as, but not limited to, safety glasses and gloves
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
Previous construction carpentry experience of 1+ years Vo-Tech or Trade School training preferred but not required Knowledge of industrial construction materials OSHA 10 or 30 certification a plus Ability to work independently and as part of a team Able to lift up to 50lbs consistently and bend, kneel, climb frequently Valid driver's license may be required depending on project needs Whitley East Manufacturing/Sunbelt Modular is an equal opportunity employer. Job Requirements This role requires the ability to work at heights for extended periods and maintain balance on sloped surfaces. The Roofer must be able to lift heavy materials (often 50 pounds or more), perform physically demanding tasks, and work in various weather conditions, including heat, cold, and wind.
