Carpenter Laborer Job Description The Carpenter Laborer provides skilled carpentry and general labor support to maintain a safe, efficient, and organized construction site. This role focuses on constructing and maintaining temporary facilities, site protection systems, safety barriers, hoarding, signage, access structures, and other project support installations. The Carpenter Laborer works closely with project management, field supervision, and trade contractors to ensure the site remains functional, compliant, and productive throughout all phases of a large-scale commercial construction project. Responsibilities Construct, install, and maintain temporary facilities such as site offices, storage areas, and access structures to support ongoing construction activities. Build and maintain site protection systems, safety barriers, hoarding, and signage to ensure safe and controlled access throughout the project site. Perform rough carpentry and framing tasks, including measuring, cutting, and assembling materials using hand tools and power tools. Assist with general construction and general labor duties, including loading, unloading, and moving materials and equipment as needed. Support site cleanliness by performing regular cleaning, debris removal, and organization of work areas to maintain a safe and efficient environment. Use hand tools, tape measures, and power tools to complete carpentry and construction tasks accurately and safely. Install and repair drywall and other basic building components as required to support project progress. Read and interpret construction drawings and site logistics plans to carry out work in alignment with project requirements. Coordinate daily activities with project management, field supervision, and trade contractors to support smooth site operations. Follow all jobsite safety requirements and OSHA regulations, including proper use of personal protective equipment and adherence to safety procedures. Work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining strong communication and teamwork with other site personnel. Adapt to changing site conditions and project phases, supporting different tasks as construction progresses. Participate in safe operation of aerial lifts, scissor lifts, forklifts, and other equipment when properly certified. Contribute to maintaining an orderly, compliant, and productive worksite on a high-profile commercial, industrial, and R D construction project. Essential Skills Minimum of 2 years of commercial construction carpentry experience preferred. Ability to perform general labor and general construction tasks, including heavy lifting, loading, cleaning, and material handling. Proficiency in rough carpentry, framing, and general carpentry techniques on commercial construction sites. Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and site logistics plans. Knowledge of construction methods, tools, and materials commonly used on large commercial and industrial projects. Strong understanding of jobsite safety requirements and OSHA regulations. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining productivity and quality. Strong communication and teamwork skills to coordinate effectively with project management, field supervision, and trade contractors. Ability to safely use hand tools, tape measures, and power tools for carpentry and construction tasks. High school diploma or GED preferred. Additional Skills & Qualifications OSHA 10-Hour or OSHA 30-Hour Construction Certification preferred. Aerial Lift Certification preferred. Scissor Lift Certification preferred. Forklift Certification preferred. First Aid/CPR Certification preferred. Experience working on large, complex commercial, industrial, or manufacturing construction projects. Work Environment This role is based on an active commercial, industrial, and construction project site within an innovation and science park setting. The work environment includes regular exposure to moving equipment, noise, dust, and changing environmental conditions. The position requires the ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, squat, and climb throughout the workday, as well as lift and carry materials weighing up to 75 pounds. Work occurs both indoors and outdoors under varying weather conditions. Proper personal protective equipment is mandatory, including hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, safety footwear, and high-visibility apparel. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Perkasie, PA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $27.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
