Essig Renovation & Design is seeking an experienced Skilled Carpenter/Craftsperson to join our Design-Build remodeling team. We are looking for a well-rounded residential remodeling professional who takes pride in quality craftsmanship, can read plans, solve problems, communicate effectively, and complete work efficiently without constant supervision. This is not an entry-level position . Ideal candidates will have 8+ years of hands-on carpentry, remodeling, or residential construction experience and be comfortable working across multiple phases of a renovation. Responsibilities & Skills Our Skilled Carpenter/Craftsperson should have strong experience in many of the following areas: Rough and structural framing Finish carpentry, trim, crown molding, and wainscoting Cabinet installation Interior and exterior door installation Window installation and flashing Tile installation and layout Wedi and Schluter waterproofing systems Hardwood and other flooring installation Subfloor preparation and leveling Deck and railing construction Hardie, LP, cedar, vinyl, and wood siding Exterior trim, fascia, soffit, and flashing Drywall installation and patching Painting, staining, and finish work Insulation Basic appliance installation Basic residential plumbing and electrical work Minor roofing, concrete, and masonry work Final punch-list and project completion work Candidates should also be comfortable reading residential construction plans and understanding plan views, elevations, sections, details, and schedules. What We're Looking For We want someone who understands that remodeling often requires problem-solving. Existing conditions don't always match the plans, and a skilled craftsperson should be able to recognize potential issues, communicate them to the project team, and help develop practical solutions while maintaining the design intent.

Produce accurate, high-quality work Work independently without constant supervision Follow plans and manufacturer specifications Communicate potential problems before proceeding Maintain a clean, safe, and organized jobsite Protect clients' homes and belongings Work effectively as part of a team Use tools and materials responsibly Demonstrate excellent reliability and attendance Represent Essig Renovation & Design professionally in clients' homes Qualifications 8+ years of carpentry, remodeling, or residential construction experience preferred Strong residential remodeling experience Valid driver's license Reliable transportation Ability to work full-time Ability to read residential construction plans Strong knowledge of construction tools and materials Excellent communication and problem-solving skills Strong attention to detail Commitment to quality craftsmanship Good understanding of construction and jobsite safety EPA Lead-Safe certification is preferred. Compensation $24.00

•30.00 per hour, based on experience and demonstrated skill level. Benefits Health, Dental & Vision Essig Renovation & Design pays 50% of the employee's health, dental, and vision insurance premiums . Employees are responsible for the remaining 50% of their individual coverage and the full cost of dependent coverage. Paid Time Off 1st year: 72 hours 2nd year: 80 hours 3rd year: 88 hours 4th year and beyond: 96 hours annually Unused PTO may carry over Paid Holidays Christmas, New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Fourth of July, Labor Day, and Thanksgiving. Sick Leave Accrued at 1 hour for every 30 hours worked , up to 72 hours per year, in accordance with applicable Pittsburgh regulations. Retirement 401(k) with 1% company match .
