Simplex Homes is looking for experienced carpenters and construction professionals to join our Service Department. If you have experience in residential construction, remodeling, carpentry, home repair, or multiple construction trades, this is an opportunity to put those skills to work troubleshooting and completing repairs on modular homes and buildings after they leave our facility. Our Service Technicians work independently and as part of a team to solve problems in the field and make sure the finished product meets Simplex quality standards. We are looking for service techs for: Local On-Site Carpenters (no overnight travel - return home each night) Traveling On-Site Carpenters (overnight travel is required - come home on the weekends)
What You'll Do:
Perform punch-list, finish, warranty, and service work on modular homes and buildings after delivery and set. Diagnose and repair construction-related issues in the field. Perform carpentry and finish work involving walls, trim, cabinetry, doors, windows, flooring, siding, and roofing. Troubleshoot and complete minor plumbing and electrical repairs within the scope of the position. Repair drywall, trim, flooring, siding, roofing, windows, doors, and other building components. Read and interpret blueprints, floor plans, and work orders. Work independently to identify problems and determine appropriate repairs. Communicate professionally with homeowners, contractors, project teams, and Simplex employees. Coordinate with our factory teams to resolve field issues accurately and efficiently. Document completed service work and required job information. Maintain company tools, equipment, and service vehicles. Follow OSHA requirements and all company safety procedures. Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED required. 2+ years of residential construction, carpentry, electrical, plumbing, remodeling, or similar experience preferred. Strong carpentry and general construction skills. Ability to troubleshoot construction problems and determine appropriate repairs. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Strong communication and customer-service skills. Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record. Ability to obtain/maintain required DOT medical certification. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., climb ladders, and perform physical construction work. Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions. Modular or manufactured-home experience is a plus, but is not required.
