Job Overview We are seeking a experienced Lead Carpenter to lead one of our dedicated field crews. This is a hands-on leadership role for a carpenter who can turn approved plans and scope into a safe, organized, productive day while building alongside the crew. This is not a desk-superintendent position, and it is more than another carpenter opening. You will be trusted to direct daily field execution, verify that the work is ready to start, protect quality, develop the crew, and alert the project manager before a small issue becomes a delay or rework. This role requires a hands-on leader who can manage crews, interpret technical drawings, and coordinate schedules while maintaining strict adherence to construction regulations. As a key team member, you will drive project success by supervising daily operations, managing subcontractors, and ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget. Duties Lead and supervise construction crews, ensuring work is performed safely, efficiently, and according to project specifications, assign work, set the production goal, and complete an end-of-day closeout. Review the current scope, drawings, dimensions, approved changes, materials, tools, and jobsite conditions before irreversible work begins. Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and construction plans to guide team activities.

• Perform high-quality residential carpentry and remodeling work, including framing, trim, doors, windows, cabinet installation, punch work, and finish carpentry. Sequence the work, maintain a productive pace, and communicate schedule risks or missing information early. Check work at critical control points and stop or question unclear, conflicting, or incorrect work before it becomes rework. Keep the jobsite safe, clean, organized, and ready for the customer, subcontractors, and inspectors. Record labor time, materials, progress photos, job notes, and field issues accurately in JobTread by the end of each workday. Set a professional example, train developing carpenters, and hold the crew accountable for attendance, quality, efficiency, and proper tool use. Coordinate project schedules using construction management software JobTread. Manage subcontractors and vendors, ensuring compliance with contracts and quality standards Conduct site inspections to monitor progress, enforce OSHA safety regulations, and uphold construction safety management practices Review construction drawings for accuracy and clarity; oversee quality control measures throughout the project lifecycle Collaborate with project managers on budgeting, procurement, and resource allocation to optimize productivity Supervise the use of tools like Ohmmeter for electrical testing and ensure all team members adhere to federal construction safety regulations Manage crew assignments, track daily progress, and communicate effectively with management on project status and issues Skills professional residential carpentry, remodeling, or construction experience. Strong frame-to-finish carpentry skills and the ability to independently read plans, measurements, scopes of work, and specifications. Experience leading a small crew, assigning daily work, and coaching other carpenters. Dependable attendance, sound judgment, clear communication, and the ability to solve field problems without losing control of quality or schedule.
