Job Description

Staff Zone, a leader in construction staffing , is seeking Form Carpenters, Wood Blockers, and Drywall Finishers for immediate placement with a valued customer in Charleston. These are full‑time commercial construction positions requiring skill, precision, and reliability. Form Carpenter Build, erect, install, and strip wooden or metal forms used to shape and support poured concrete for foundations, walls, bridges, and other structural elements. Blueprint measurement — measure, cut, and secure materials with precision to ensure forms withstand wet concrete pressure. Structural setup — assemble frameworks that maintain integrity during pours.
Tools Used:
Linesman Pliers, Dykes, Scaffold Wrench (19/22mm), Flat‑Head Screwdriver, Pry Bars, Form Busters, Tie Wire Reel, Twisters, Measuring & Layout Tools, Long Tape Measure, Laser Level, Plumb Bob, Torpedo Level, Track Saw, 15‑Gauge Nail Gun, Cordless Sander. Wood Blocker Install wood blocking to reinforce framing and provide secure backing for mounted fixtures. Creating backing — supports heavy items like cabinets, grab bars, TV mounts, and handrails. Bracing & stiffening — prevents studs from bowing and joists from twisting. Nailing edges — provides edge support for drywall corners and sheathing.
Tools Used:
Hangi‑to (Knife), V‑Gouge, U‑Gouge, Flat Chisels, Wood Mallet, Printing/Transfer Tools, Baren, Bench Hook, Whetstones. Drywall Finisher Deliver smooth, high‑quality wall finishes for commercial interiors. Taping seams — apply paper or fiberglass tape between drywall panels. Applying mud — spread joint compound over screws, corners, and seams. Sanding surfaces — create a seamless, flat finish. Repair work — fix cracks, holes, and dents. Finish levels — apply correct finish grades up to Level 5.
