  • Join our dynamic team as a Carpenter, where you will be tasked with performing general labor duties with a focus on carpentry.

Our flexible work schedule allows you to start earlier or later within reason, ensuring a work-life balance while maintaining the highest quality of craftsmanship. Your role will encompass various responsibilities that contribute to the production of container projects and maintaining job site safety.

  • Responsibilities
  • + Perform carpentry tasks with the highest quality of craftsmanship in the time allotted.

+ Responsible for the production of container projects in accordance with the plans and specifications.

+ Ensure jobsite safety, cleanliness, and security.

+ Communicate clearly and effectively with the production team, including welders and laborers.

+ Stay informed of the entire project scope, including changes and schedule.

+ Order construction materials and parts as needed.

+ Problem solve independently without the direction of superiors.

+ Maintain a positive attitude even through adversity.

+ Remove rust from large shipping containers using hand-held grinders.

+ Strip and remove decals from the outside of containers.

+ Use a small hand-held saw to remove debris as needed.

+ Wash out containers using a pressure washer.

+ Remove floor boards and debris from containers.

+ Prepare containers for painting and spot paint small areas as needed.

+ Hammer dents using a hammer or sledge hammer.

  • Essential Skills
  • + Proficiency in general labor and carpentry tasks. + Experience in pressure washing and using power tools. + Ability to use small hand-held tools such as hand saws and grinders. + Leadership skills and the ability to lead carpentry projects. + Experience in drywall, finish carpentry, and framing. + Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • + Leadership mentality and self-motivation. + Capability to order materials proactively. + Experience in minor painting and decal removal. + Team mentality and willingness to learn and be trained. + Experience in using a tape measure and installing sheet rock.

  • Work Environment
  • The work environment consists of an outdoor yard-type setting where you will work outside or inside containers.

While a canopy or cover is provided, you may be exposed to elements at times. There is an area with AC and hydration stations to cool down. You will need steel-toed boots, which will be provided along with safety glasses and cut-resistant gloves. Working conditions may include wet and humid environments, proximity to moving mechanical parts, and exposure to fumes or airborne particles. The job site is near the airport, so planes may fly overhead, and loud noises are typical.

  • This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Memphis, TN.
  • Pay and Benefits
  • The pay range for this position is $30.

00 - $35.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your jobclassification and length of employment.
