Job Title:
Finish Carpenter Job Description This role focuses on commercial finish carpentry, including reading blueprints, installing doors and hardware, performing metal stud framing, and completing drywall hanging and finishing in office spaces. You work independently while consistently delivering high-quality workmanship and adhering to strict safety standards in a climate-controlled environment. Responsibilities Read and interpret construction blueprints to understand project specifications, layouts, and material requirements. Install doors and associated hardware accurately, ensuring proper alignment, secure fastening, and smooth operation. Perform metal stud framing for walls and partitions in commercial office spaces, following plans and structural requirements. Hang drywall on framed walls and ceilings, ensuring panels are properly aligned, secured, and prepared for finishing. Finish drywall to a high standard, including taping, mudding, sanding, and preparing surfaces for painting or final finishes. Work independently to plan tasks, manage time effectively, and complete assigned work within project schedules. Maintain high-quality workmanship on all carpentry tasks, ensuring clean, precise, and durable results. Follow all safety procedures and guidelines on site, using tools and equipment correctly and maintaining a clean and organized work area. Collaborate with other trades and team members as needed to support smooth project execution in commercial office environments. Essential Skills 3-5+ years of experience as a commercial carpenter. Proficiency in metal stud framing for commercial construction projects. Ability to read and interpret blueprints accurately. Experience installing doors and hardware in commercial settings. Skilled in hanging drywall on walls and ceilings. Skilled in finishing drywall, including taping, mudding, and sanding. Ability to work independently while maintaining high-quality workmanship. Strong commitment to following safety standards on construction sites. Additional Skills & Qualifications Prior experience working on commercial office construction or renovation projects. Ability to coordinate tasks with other trades in a commercial environment. Strong attention to detail and pride in delivering clean, finished work. Why Work Here? Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Memphis, TN. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $33.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
