Journeyman Carpenter Job Overview Austin Texas Construction is seeking an experienced Journeyman Carpenter to join our construction team. The ideal candidate has strong residential construction experience, takes pride in quality workmanship, and can work independently while following project plans, specifications, and safety standards. This position will perform a variety of carpentry and construction tasks, including framing, decking, siding, trim, repairs, remodeling, and general exterior carpentry. Responsibilities Perform residential carpentry and construction work according to project plans and specifications. Complete framing, decking, siding, trim, doors, windows, and other carpentry installations. Read and interpret construction plans, drawings, and measurements. Measure, cut, assemble, and install building materials accurately. Perform demolition and prepare work areas for construction. Identify and address construction issues and deficiencies. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe jobsite. Properly use hand tools, power tools, and construction equipment. Follow company safety procedures and applicable building codes. Communicate effectively with project managers, supervisors, and other crew members. Maintain professional conduct while working in and around customers' homes. Complete projects efficiently while maintaining high-quality workmanship. Assist with general construction tasks as needed. Requirements 3+ years of professional carpentry or residential construction experience. Strong knowledge of general carpentry practices and construction methods. Ability to read plans, take accurate measurements, and perform basic calculations. Proficient with common hand and power tools. Ability to work independently and as part of a construction crew. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality. Reliable transportation and dependable attendance. Ability to safely lift materials and perform physically demanding construction work. Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions. Valid driver's license preferred. OSHA or other construction safety training is a plus.
