This role involves developing engaging curricula, demonstrating technical skills, and mentoring students to excel in construction, manufacturing, and maintenance disciplines. As a Carpenter Instructor, you will play a vital role in preparing aspiring professionals with practical skills, safety knowledge, and industry best practices to succeed in diverse environments such as construction sites, manufacturing plants, aircraft maintenance facilities, and HVAC systems. Your energetic approach will inspire learners to build confidence and competence in their craft. Responsibilities Deliver comprehensive classroom lessons and practical demonstrations covering carpentry techniques, safety protocols, and industry standards. Develop and update curriculum materials aligned with current industry practices, including modules on programmable logic controllers, electrical systems, plumbing, welding, HVAC/R systems, automotive diagnostics, and mechanical knowledge. Assess student progress through evaluations, hands-on projects, and skill demonstrations; provide constructive feedback to foster improvement. Maintain a safe learning environment by enforcing OSHA regulations and safety procedures during all training activities. Incorporate modern instructional tools such as Blackboard or other Learning Management Systems to enhance learning engagement. Collaborate with industry partners to ensure training content remains relevant and incorporates the latest technological advancements like automation and manufacturing processes. Mentor students on career pathways within construction, manufacturing, aircraft maintenance, HVAC/R, automotive repair, and related fields; support their professional development. Requirements Proven experience in carpentry or related trades such as construction, manufacturing, aircraft maintenance, HVAC/R systems, or automotive repair. Strong mechanical knowledge across multiple disciplines including electrical experience, plumbing, welding, maintenance, and HVAC systems. Prior classroom experience or adult education teaching background preferred; ability to communicate complex concepts clearly. Familiarity with curriculum development processes and instructional design best practices. Knowledge of industry safety standards including OSHA regulations; commitment to maintaining a safe learning environment. Technical proficiency with programmable logic controllers (PLCs), Blackboard or similar LMS platforms; ability to integrate digital tools into instruction.
