DES Construction Inc. is seeking a full-time carpenter or carpenter's assistant for projects throughout Charlottesville and surrounding areas. The right person produces clean, accurate work, takes direction well, solves field conditions calmly, and grows toward completing assigned scopes independently. Insurance is offered.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

Perform rough and finish carpentry, including framing, trim, doors, windows, cabinetry, decks, porches, stairs, and repairs. Read plans; verify dimensions; lay out work; identify conflicts before material is cut or installed. Use hand and power tools safely; maintain tools, materials, and a clean, professional job site. Estimate material needs for assigned tasks and communicate shortages, changes, damage, or delays early. Protect occupied spaces and finished work; communicate respectfully with customers, trade partners, and crew members. Complete punch-list items promptly and document progress or concealed conditions when requested.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

At least one year of hands-on carpentry, remodeling, or closely related construction experience. Ability to complete common tasks accurately at the level expected for the candidate's experience and to explain or follow the work sequence before starting. Working knowledge of measurement, layout, fastening, moisture control, material handling, and job-site safety. Reliable attendance, a valid driver's license, and the candidate's own dependable vehicle for travel to changing job sites. Ability to responsibly operate company or job-specific tools. Personal basic hand tools are permitted. Ability to perform essential physical duties, with or without reasonable accommodation, including climbing, kneeling, bending, carrying materials, and working outdoors.

Pay:

$20.00 - $35.00 per hour
