As a Production Carpenter or Helper at Marine Floats, you'll build floating docks, piers, and gangways at marinas and ports up and down some of the most scenic coastline in the Pacific Northwest — Puget Sound, the Columbia River, and beyond. Position Summary We're hiring experienced journey-level Carpenters and Carpenter Helpers for our Production team — fabricating floating dock modules in our Tacoma yard and installing them on the water at marinas and ports across the region. (This is Production/New Construction — separate from our Service/repair crew.) You'll work alongside a skilled crew and learn methods built specifically for the marine environment. What You'll Do In the Fabrication Yard Build and assemble floating dock modules, frames, and decking from plans and cut lists Install flotation, hardware, cleats, and utility conduit Operate hand and power tools safely and accurately Read and work from blueprints, shop drawings, and material lists Maintain a clean, organized, safe work area In the Field (New Construction) Travel to job sites throughout WA and OR to install newly fabricated float systems, piers, and gangways Assist with rigging, crane signaling, and safe material handling on and near the water Work as part of a crew to set pilings, connect float sections, and complete final tie-ins on new projects Follow site-specific safety plans and marine work protocols Communicate professionally with site supervisors, other trades, and occasionally clients What You Bring Required Journey-level carpentry experience (Carpenter) or a strong work ethic and willingness to learn (Helper) Current, valid driver's license Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening Comfort working outdoors in all weather, on and around water Reliable attendance and a team-first attitude Preferred Experience in commercial or residential marine construction Basic rigging or crane-signaling experience
