Finish Carpenter - Full-Time Opportunity Job Description This role focuses on delivering high-quality framing and finish carpentry for commercial construction projects using both steel and wood systems. You will contribute to structural framing, interior partitions, and detailed finish work, ensuring every element is durable, precise, and built to last. The position requires a strong commitment to safety, quality, and efficiency while working on new builds, renovations, and structural retrofits. Responsibilities Perform steel framing for commercial structures, including structural steel framing and light-gauge steel framing for interior partitions, ensuring all work meets design specifications and structural requirements. Execute wood framing for commercial projects, constructing walls, floors, and other structural components that are sturdy, straight, and aligned with project plans. Frame walls and floors with precision, following blueprints and layout instructions to ensure accurate dimensions and proper alignment. Install roof trusses and other structural elements safely and accurately, coordinating with other trades as needed to maintain project timelines. Carry out framing renovation and retrofitting work to enhance structural integrity and stability, including projects related to building upgrades and seismic retrofits. Perform rough carpentry tasks such as setting metal studs, installing blocking, and constructing basic structural frameworks. Complete finish carpentry tasks including trim work, detailed finishes, and other final carpentry elements that contribute to a polished, professional appearance. Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to plan and execute carpentry tasks correctly. Use tape measures and other measuring tools to verify dimensions, ensure accuracy, and maintain tight tolerances throughout all phases of construction. Install and repair drywall as needed to support framing and finish carpentry activities, ensuring smooth transitions and clean finishes. Maintain a high standard of quality in all work performed, inspecting completed tasks and making necessary adjustments to meet project and industry standards. Work efficiently to help keep projects on schedule and within budget while coordinating with supervisors and team members to sequence tasks effectively. Follow all safety and compliance requirements on-site, including proper use of tools and equipment, adherence to safety protocols, and maintaining a clean and organized work area. Essential Skills Proven experience in construction and carpentry, with a focus on both rough and finish carpentry in commercial construction environments. Hands-on experience with finish carpentry, including trim work and detailed finishing tasks that require precision and attention to detail. Demonstrated ability in rough carpentry, including framing walls, floors, and roof systems using wood and steel materials. Proficiency in steel framing, including structural steel and light-gauge metal stud installation for interior partitions. Proficiency in wood framing techniques, ensuring frames are sturdy, straight, and compliant with project specifications. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, construction drawings, and specifications to guide framing and finish work. Skilled use of tape measures and other measuring tools to ensure accurate cuts, layouts, and installations. Experience working with drywall in a construction setting, including coordination with framing and finish carpentry tasks. Strong commitment to quality craftsmanship, delivering precise, clean, and durable work. Demonstrated efficiency and precision in completing tasks while maintaining high standards of workmanship. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
