The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with general carpentry, framing, installations, and finish work. Candidates with strong construction skills who are willing to learn additional trades and installation techniques are encouraged to apply.
Key ResponsibilitiesPerform rough and finish carpentry work on commercial and residential construction projects.
Install commercial doors, windows, frames, and related hardware.
Perform wood and metal framing according to project specifications.
Install and finish drywall as needed.
Build and install decks and other wood structures.
Install lockers, toilet partitions, bath accessories, and other specialty items.
Perform Division 8 work, including doors, frames, and related architectural products.
Perform Division 10 and miscellaneous accessory installations.
Read and follow construction drawings, plans, and project specifications.
Measure, cut, assemble, and install materials accurately.
Use hand and power tools safely and efficiently.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
Work effectively with project managers, supervisors, subcontractors, and other trades.
Follow all applicable job-site safety requirements and quality standards.
Complete assigned work efficiently while maintaining a high standard of workmanship.
QualificationsPrevious experience in commercial carpentry or general construction preferred.
Hands-on experience with one or more of the following:
Commercial door/window installationWood or metal framingDrywallFinish carpentryDeck constructionLockers and accessoriesDivision 8 or Division 10 installationsAbility to use common carpentry hand and power tools.
Ability to read and understand basic construction drawings and measurements.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
Ability to work independently as well as part of a construction team.
Reliable transportation and ability to travel to job sites in the Martinsburg area.
Ability to work safely in an active construction environment.
PreferredCommercial construction experience.
Experience with architectural specialties or Division 8/Division 10 installations.
OSHA or other construction safety training.
Experience working on multiple project types and job sites.
