August 17-21, 2026 About the Project Sapphire Diving LLC is seeking an experienced Commercial Diver to join our team for a federal underwater hull cleaning and inspection project aboard a U.S. Coast Guard vessel in Key West, Florida. The selected individual will serve as the designated Standby Diver/Tender , supporting the working diver throughout the operation while maintaining full readiness for immediate deployment if required. Responsibilities Serve as the designated Standby Diver throughout diving operations. Perform topside tender duties while the working diver is in the water. Maintain continuous communication and monitor the working diver throughout the dive. Be prepared for immediate deployment in the event assistance is required. Assist with dive setup, equipment preparation, and post-dive breakdown. Support underwater inspection, documentation, and hull cleaning operations as directed. Maintain dive logs and follow all established safety procedures. Work closely with the Dive Supervisor and project team to ensure safe and efficient execution of the project. Minimum Qualifications Graduate of an accredited commercial diving school (DIT, CDA, Divers Academy International, SBCC, or equivalent). Current commercial diver certification. Current CPR/First Aid certification. Experience serving as a standby diver and/or dive tender on commercial diving projects. Ability to travel to Key West for the duration of the project. Preferred Qualifications Current commercial diving medical. Experience with vessel inspections, hull cleaning, ship husbandry, or underwater maintenance. Experience supporting government, military, offshore, or shipyard diving operations. Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively as part of a professional dive team. Thorough understanding of OSHA Commercial Diving Operations (29 CFR 1910 Subpart T). This project offers the opportunity to support a specialized commercial diving operation aboard a U.S. government vessel, with potential consideration for future project-based assignments.
Pay:
$30.00 - $40.00 per hour
