Job Summary K9 Mold Detection Handler - Nationwide Travel Mold Dog USA is looking for an experienced K9 handler ready to hit the road with us. We're a fast-growing team on the front lines of the mold detection industry, and our mission is simple: give families dealing with toxic mold exposure real answers, fast — not guesswork. As a handler, you and your dog are the ones who find what's actually hiding behind the walls. You'll travel to homes and businesses across the country, run a scent detection search alongside a full visual inspection, and hand families a clear next step toward getting healthy again. If you like real work with real stakes — and you know what it means to trust a dog's nose — this is for you. What You'll Do Partner with a certified mold assessment technician to deliver a full dual inspection: hands-on visual assessment plus K9 scent detection Inspect residential and commercial properties nationwide — attics, crawl spaces, basements, and everywhere in between Travel locally and nationally, including multi-day trips Work a 3/4-day week (yes, really) — one day is dedicated to maintenance training, weekends are yours Handle daily care, grooming, and training for your company-owned, company-paid K9 partner between jobs Coordinate closely with the team to keep logistics tight and inspections running smoothly What You Bring 2+ years of professional K9 handling experience in scent detection — non-negotiable Based in the Northeast, ideally near Washington D.C., NYC, Philadelphia Live close to a major airport Willing and able to complete a mold inspection certification course Willing and able to complete a mandatory 1-2 week K9 handler course Physically able to carry up to 50 lbs and stay on your feet for extended stretches A track record of consistently caring for and training a working dog Law enforcement, private sector, or military scent-detection background is a strong plus Sharp, detailed report writing Calm, professional conflict management — you'll be in people's homes on some of their worst days The Details This is a 1099 independent contractor role, paid per job. Mold Dog USA supplies all inspection tools and equipment — you bring the skill and the partnership with your dog.
