Houston, TX Job Details Part-time $16 - $20 an hour 2 days ago Qualifications Equipment safety procedures Floor cleaning Safety inspections for hazard identification Diving operations Laundry Oxygen equipment Student support Hazard identification and correction Clean workspace maintenance Patient emergency assistance Student safety monitoring Entry level Full Job Description The diver is responsible for student safety from the time the simulator enters the water until the student reaches the pool wall or shallow platform. The diver has the authority to stop the exercise immediately if an unsafe act or condition is identified.
Key diver responsibilities include:
Know and follow all simulator egress and safety procedures. Be properly equipped and ensure sufficient air is available before each dive. Identify and report hazards or unsafe diving equipment to the Facility Manager. Ensure no one is under the simulator, no more than one red-helmet student is inside, and one diver is positioned on each side of the simulator. Assist instructors and students before, during, and after simulator exercises. Remain prepared to respond to emergencies, assist students to the surface, provide qualified medical assistance, administer oxygen, and activate EMS when required. Assist with simulator window/door removal and retrieval when necessary. Be prompt, dependable, and available for scheduled duties. Assist with post-HUET cleanup, including storing dive equipment, coveralls, helmets, laundry, EBS equipment, and cleaning change-room floors. The diver's primary responsibility is to maintain safety, support the instructors, and ensure all required procedures are followed throughout the exercise.
