Overview We are looking for 2 people that can work together and Join our dynamic team as a Driver/Companion for adult Autistic / Neurodivergent / Special needs clients and be the friendly face behind safe, reliable transportation to their activities . This role offers an exciting opportunity to work together with a friend or family member and combine excellent driving skills with compassionate passenger assistance, ensuring a comfortable and secure journey every time. You will play a vital part in delivering exceptional service while adhering to traffic regulations and safety standards. If you thrive in a fast-paced environment and enjoy helping others, this position is perfect for you . Pay is $25/ each person per hour and all mileage / gas is reimbursed . Duties Safely operate your own vehicle such as a standard passenger cars. Navigate city streets efficiently using GPS navigation tools gojng to specific destinations such as parks. Assist passengers with boarding as the client has special needs and mobility issues . Ensure passenger safety by adhering strictly to traffic laws and safety protocols during all trips. Maintain vehicle cleanliness and perform routine checks to ensure optimal operation. Use mobile devices to communicate with dispatch, confirm routes, and update trip statuses. Provide excellent customer service by creating a welcoming environment and addressing passenger needs professionally. Take the client from their house in Portsmouth on Saturdays 1-5:30 pm to a park, for a walk, listen to the radio, to play ball games and return after a long drive as well . Pick up from a day center one day tues or thurs 9:30-1 pm Take the client to their gym and transfer to the trainer , wait for the session to end, get a smoothie and return after a shorter drive. Qualifications Proven experience operating standard passenger cars. Strong knowledge of GPS navigation systems and city street layouts Excellent organizational skills Demonstrated customer service skills with a friendly, professional attitude Ability to assist passengers with mobility or special needs while prioritizing passenger safety and comfort. Be physically able to lift the client if they fall , be physically active enough to walk, kick balls, control the clients equipments such as a walker .
