WELDING INSTRUCTOR
(PART-TIME) —
JOB DESCRIPTION
Charter College | Vancouver, WA | Part-Time Share Your Welding Knowledge — Join Us as an Instructor! Charter College, a fast-growing career college in Vancouver, WA, has established a Welding Program at our campus and is seeking enthusiastic part-time instructors to join our team. We are looking for someone with the commitment and drive to help students achieve their dreams and reach the highest level of academic and professional growth. Schedule Options Monday-Thursday | 9:00am-2:30pm Monday-Thursday | 5:30pm-11:00pm Classes meet 2 times per week | 5-week courses | Average 10-12 hours per week Duties and Responsibilities Prepare and deliver all lecture, laboratory, and clinical instruction per the required curriculum Follow current course outlines, objectives, and evaluation methods, or develop them as directed by the Program Manager Maintain a daily lesson plan Monitor and document student attendance and retention as required Grade assignments and return feedback to students in a timely manner Provide educational assistance during scheduled office hours or by appointment Substitute in classes when necessary Advise students on school policies and satisfactory academic performance Submit textbook, supply, and equipment needs in writing to the Program Manager Monitor equipment and supply inventory in secured facilities Communicate with the Campus President or Program Manager on all student related matters Maintain professional expertise through seminars, current literature, and online courses to meet accreditation standards Attend all mandatory meetings and serve on assigned committees Maintain a professional appearance Perform other duties as required Qualifications 2 years of experience as a welding professional AWS CWI certification along with welding vocational/technical training with pipe and structural welding certificates and 3 years of experience in inspection or fabricator QC will be considered Broad knowledge of welding applications, procedures, specifications, industry codes and standards, and applied metallurgy Proficient computer skills Effective oral and written communication skills Compensation Part-Time | Pay by Course $1,250-$1,450 per 5-week course Average 10-12 hours per week in the classroom and working with students Charter College is an Equal Opportunity Employer committed to diversity.
