Concrete Paving Operator Little Rock, AR Job Details Full-time 1 day ago Benefits Health insurance Dental insurance Paid time off Vision insurance 401(k) matching Qualifications Safe work practices Paving Outdoor work Routine inspections Mid-level Performing regular vehicle safety checks 3 years Climbing Construction machinery maintenance Quality standards in production Construction Communication skills Full Job Description The Concrete Paving Operator is responsible for operating concrete paving machinery such as slipform pavers, placers, curb machines, trowels, mixers, and other heavy equipment. The Concrete Paving Operator must also complete prestart inspections, assist with fluid checks and maintenance, securing the equipment, cleaning, and other duties as directed by the Foreman or Superintendent. This position is one in which a momentary lapse of attention may result in grave and immediate danger to themselves and others; therefore, this position is classified as safety sensitive.
Key Responsibilities:
Responsible for operating equipment in a safe and efficient manner according to company policy, as well as manufacturer's guidelines. Responsible for performing daily maintenance and safety checks. Responsible for cleaning equipment as required. Responsible for making sure equipment is secured at the end of the shift. Maintain positive working relationships with all members of the crew. Provide feedback to ensure all materials, tools, equipment and information is available for the work. May perform other duties as assigned by Foreman or Division Manager. Must have a minimum of three years experience in the civil construction industry and have an in-depth understanding of concrete paving operations. Must be able to follow safety and quality standards and effectively utilize all trade tools and equipment relevant to the work. Must be able to climb, stoop, bend, and squat as required for various duties with the equipment. Must be able to work outdoors in extreme temperatures, both hot and cold. Possess effective verbal and written communication skills. Must adhere to safety requirements as outlines in the Employee Handbook. Must be able to work in a team environment and assist co-workers and supervisors with other duties as required.
Preferred Qualifications:
Prior operating or mechanical experience with GOMACO Slip-Form Paving Equipment. Understanding of maintenance procedures and protocols.
