Full-Time About This Opportunity A nationally recognized specialty contractor and industry leader is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to oversee the successful delivery of large-scale concrete, hardscape, decorative concrete, architectural concrete, and site development projects throughout Southern California. This is a rare opportunity to join one of the most respected decorative concrete and specialty site construction companies in the industry. The ideal candidate will bring extensive project leadership experience, a strong understanding of self-perform concrete operations, and a proven ability to manage large, complex construction projects from preconstruction through closeout. We are particularly interested in candidates who have worked for a self-performing concrete contractor, a self-performing general contractor, or a major general contractor where they were heavily involved in managing concrete scopes and understand the pace, planning, logistics, and execution required for large-scale concrete construction. Position Summary The Senior Project Manager will lead multiple high-profile projects while serving as the primary point of contact for clients, ownership teams, architects, landscape architects, engineers, subcontractors, and internal operations teams. This individual will be responsible for overall project performance including budgeting, forecasting, scheduling, contract administration, staffing, risk management, client relationships, and successful project delivery. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker, strong communicator, and experienced construction leader capable of managing complex projects while supporting field teams and maintaining exceptional client relationships. Key Responsibilities Lead projects from preconstruction through closeout with full responsibility for project performance. Manage project budgets, forecasts, cash flow, cost controls, and overall financial results. Oversee contract administration, change orders, claims management, and risk mitigation efforts. Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, owners, architects, landscape architects, engineers, and project stakeholders. Collaborate with estimating, operations, and field leadership teams to ensure successful project execution. Direct project schedules, procurement activities, staffing plans, and resource allocation. Lead project meetings and maintain alignment among all project participants. Support self-perform field operations and provide leadership on project logistics, sequencing, quality control, and schedule management. Monitor project performance and proactively identify opportunities for improvement. Mentor and develop Project Managers, Project Engineers, and support staff. Ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, profitably, and in accordance with company quality standards. Qualifications 5+ years of construction project management experience. Proven experience managing large-scale commercial construction projects. Strong understanding of self-perform concrete operations and construction means and methods. Experience managing project budgets, forecasting, scheduling, procurement, and contract administration. Demonstrated success leading projects from preconstruction through completion. Ability to lead teams, build client relationships, and manage multiple priorities simultaneously. Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills. Proficiency with Procore, Bluebeam, Microsoft Office, scheduling software, and construction management systems. Preferred Experience Self-perform concrete contractor experience. Experience with decorative concrete, architectural concrete, site concrete, hardscape, or specialty concrete construction. Experience managing public works, parks, plazas, streetscapes, campus environments, mixed-use developments, hospitality, or large commercial projects. Previous experience with leading contractors such as Swinerton, Webcor, McCarthy, PCL, Clark, Pankow, DPR, Penta, TB Penick, Legacy, Peterson Brothers, or similar organizations. Experience coordinating with landscape architects and design teams on architecturally significant projects. Knowledge of large-scale concrete sequencing, logistics planning, manpower management, and self-perform operations.
