Irvine, CA Job Details Full-time From $85,000 a year 22 hours ago Benefits Health insurance Dental insurance Vision insurance Retirement plan Qualifications Vendor relationship building Full Job Description Ekedal Concrete is seeking an experienced Concrete Estimator to join us in our office in Irvine, CA. On a daily basis the Concrete Estimator will participate in all aspects of the bid/estimating process from review of plans and specs to soliciting and negotiating prices from subcontractors/suppliers through completion of bid/estimating efforts including closeout. The Concrete Estimator will also perform quantity take-offs, pricing, scoping, and bidding of construction projects.
Key Responsibilities:
Performs quantity take-offs. Assists in the pricing and bidding of construction projects. Communicates with architects and consultants to clarify scope of work, materials, and schedule requirements, and documents these clarifications. Conducts reviews of milestone documents for the development and pricing of value alternative opportunities. Actively participates in the internal estimate review process. Assists with final assembly of estimate for presentation to owner. After the bid, collects and organizes all bid information for future reference. Aids field operations with change order pricing if needed. Directs, coordinates and provides information and documents to subcontractors. Prepares contractual exhibits for scope of work for subcontracts. Builds relationships with subcontractors to obtain a competitive advantage for Ekedal Attends industry events and represents Ekedal to the industry in a professional capacity. Builds and maintains relationships with internal Ekedal clients. Keeps current with latest estimating technology and techniques. Implement all applicable Safety Programs and EEO/Affirmative Action Programs. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or Engineering or 3-5 years of equivalent experience required. General knowledge of construction principles and processes. Ability to read and interpret drawings and specifications. General knowledge of negotiated bids, hard bids, and GMP processes. Working knowledge of estimating technology and tools such as OST, Plan Swift, CAD, and BIM related software. Strong math and analytical skills. Attention to detail. Solid interpersonal and communication skills. Demonstrates behaviors consistent with Ekedal core values. The salary range for this position is $85,000 - $150,000. This does not include possible bonus and other benefits which can impact total compensation. Compensation offered may vary based on work location, experience, qualifications, specialty, training, and market and business considerations, among other factors.
