Pomona, CA Job Details Full-time $18 - $25 an hour 8 hours ago Benefits Profit sharing Dental insurance 401(k) Paid time off On-the-job training Vision insurance Tools provided Qualifications Spanish Outdoor work experience Moving English Forklift Construction site experience Manufacturing Full Job Description We make precast concrete fence and wall systems at our own plant in Pomona, and this job is where every one of those products starts. You will prep molds, pour and finish concrete, and strip and stage finished pieces. You do not have to be an expert in anything. Some construction experience and a little concrete knowledge go a long way here, and our crew will show you how we do it. Spanish is required for this job. Speaking both English and Spanish is a plus. Who We Are American Precast Concrete has been making precast concrete fences and walls since 1985. We manufacture at our own plants in Pomona and Hollister, and we have our own installation division, Concrete Fence Installers. Our steel-reinforced panels and posts become perimeter walls, sound walls, retaining walls, and rail fencing for developers, contractors, government agencies, parks, and homeowners across California. Our product lines, including Woodcrete, ChiselStone, Blockcrete, SmoothStone, and RusticBrick, are cast to look like wood, stone, and brick, with color mixed right into the wet concrete. Because we make our own product, every pour matters, and good work starts with the crew on the plant floor. What You'll Do Mold Preparation and Setup Clean and assemble molds: scrub, oil, and bolt together steel or wood molds.
Apply release agent:
spray or brush form oil so the hardened concrete does not stick.
Set reinforcement:
carry and place rebar or wire mesh inside the forms to strengthen the finished product.
Casting and Pouring Fill molds:
shovel, rake, or guide concrete into the forms.
Consolidate:
run concrete vibrators along the forms to work out trapped air pockets.
Screed and smooth:
strike off extra concrete to leave an even top surface. Stripping and Post-Cast Care Strip forms: unbolt and remove molds once the concrete has cured and hardened.
Move products:
help lift, stage, and load finished pieces alongside our crane and forklift crews. Operating a crane or forklift only happens after company training and authorization.
Clean up:
clean tools, wash down equipment, and keep your work area neat. Safety on Every Shift Wear your safety gear: hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, and steel-toe boots, plus hearing protection around vibrators.
Protect your skin and eyes:
wet concrete and form oil can burn and irritate, so keep them off your skin and out of your eyes.
Stay clear of moving loads:
never stand under a suspended load or in a forklift's path.
Lift smart:
use proper lifting form and ask for help with heavy or awkward pieces.
Speak up:
follow your leader's directions and report any unsafe condition right away. What We're Looking For Required Speak Spanish. Able to work on-site at our Pomona plant every workday.
