Salary:
$71,000
- $95,000 per year About us American Precast Concrete (APC) manufactures precast concrete products at our plants in
Pomona and Hollister, California:
wheel stops and truck bumpers that ship nationwide, and precast fence and wall systems (Woodcrete, Blockcrete and ChiselStone). Our sister company, Concrete Fence Installers, installs what we make. We manufacture what we install. The role We are hiring a hands-on Production Supervisor for our Pomona plant. You will lead production planning, quality, materials and shipping, working with our yard lead and production crew. You plan weeks ahead, not just today's pour, and you report results in numbers every week. You report to our CEO and work daily with our Sales Manager on order priorities. What you will do
- Turn open orders into a rolling 4-week production plan and a 12-week capacity outlook.
- Publish the next day's schedule by 3:00 pm: products, quantities, molds and crew assignments.
- Track plan vs. actual every day and fix the cause of every miss.
- Release each day's production through quality control, track rework and scrap by cause, and keep pour and QC records audit-ready.
- Count raw materials weekly (cement, aggregate, rebar, pins, clips, paint) and place purchase orders early enough that production never waits.
- Stage, load and ship orders accurately, with signed packing slips and photos.
- Lead daily safety huddles, enforce Cal/OSHA and our safety program, and keep the forklift operator roster current.
- Keep molds, forklifts, vibrating tables and mixers maintained; tag out unsafe equipment the same day.
- Hire, train, and coach the crew with HR, and develop our yard lead.
- Know labor hours and material cost per unit, and post a daily report and a weekly scorecard. What you bring
- 5+ years in precast, concrete products, or heavy manufacturing, including 2+ years supervising a crew.
- Experience planning production from an order book.
- Hands-on wet-cast knowledge: forms and release, rebar, mix and slump, vibration, curing, demolding, finishing, and repair.
- Experience running quality control: inspections, records, and rework and scrap tracking.
- Bilingual English and Spanish. Our crew works in Spanish.
- Comfortable with a task app, spreadsheets, purchase orders (QuickBooks is a plus), and written daily reports.
- Able to read shop drawings and product specs.
- Forklift certified, or able to certify in your first week. Nice to have
- PCI Plant Quality Personnel certification (Level I or II). If you don't have it, we will pay for it.
- ACI Concrete Field Testing Technician
- Grade I; OSHA 30.
- Experience in a Caltrans/DOT-approved plant or with Buy America documentation.
- Wheel stop or precast fence and wall production. Schedule and work environment
