Bauman has been serving Northern California since 1977 and has grown into an established general engineering contractor with operations in concrete, grading, underground utilities, demolition, and site development. Through Bauman Redi-Mix , we provide concrete throughout the Bay Area using volumetric mixers that allow us to produce concrete efficiently and adjust mix designs based on project requirements. This is a hands-on role for someone who understands concrete, has worked with batching concrete trucks before, worked hand in hand with dispatch and knows the importance of planning and being on time. We take pride in our customer service and this role makes it happen. What You'll Do Review Orders on the books for the weeks coming up Plan materials required according to the orders.
Ie:
tons of cement, tons of sand, tons of rock needed Plan the batching of trucks and drivers for the following day orders once dispatch is set. You would be working closely with dispatch to start. Checking in with drivers on batching process to maintain consistency, accuracy, and product quality. We have a QC on staff that you will also work with in case any issues arise. Verify mix requirements and make sure materials are ready, including colors and admixes. Coordinate with drivers, dispatch, supervisors, and field personnel to keep orders moving efficiently Monitor cement, aggregate, admixture, and other material inventories Perform routine plant inspections and identify maintenance or equipment issues Maintain accurate production, material, and batching records Monitor gauges, controls, and equipment after production by reviewing trucks tickets Communicate quickly when equipment, material, or production issues could affect deliveries Follow company safety procedures and maintain a safe working environment Help reduce waste, downtime, and unnecessary material usage Support other plant and yard activities when needed What We're Looking For Previous experience batching concrete, operating a concrete plant, or working in ready-mix production is strongly preferred Good understanding of concrete mix designs, aggregates, cement, admixtures, and batching procedures Strong attention to detail and ability to produce consistent mixes Mechanically inclined and comfortable identifying basic equipment or maintenance issues Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced construction and production environment Comfortable communicating with drivers, dispatch, field crews, and supervisors Dependable, organized, and able to take ownership of daily responsibilities Basic computer skills and ability to learn batching or production software Ability to work safely around trucks, loaders, heavy equipment, and moving machinery Valid driver's license Experience operating a loader or similar equipment is a plus Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus, but not required Compensation & Benefits Depending on experience Health insurance Paid Time Off 401(k) Stable, full-time employment Long-term opportunity with an established family-owned company Opportunity to grow your skills and take on additional responsibility Why Join Bauman?
