In this role, you will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates for commercial concrete projects, interpreting technical drawings, and collaborating closely with clients, project managers, and suppliers. Your expertise will help ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. Duties Review construction drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications to accurately interpret project requirements and material needs. Develop comprehensive cost estimates using estimating software such as HeavyBid and other construction management tools. Utilize Bluebeam and other digital platforms to markup, review, and manage project documents efficiently. Conduct material cost estimating by analyzing blueprints and technical drawings to determine quantities and pricing. Manage project budgets by tracking costs, controlling expenses, and implementing effective cost control strategies throughout the project lifecycle. Collaborate with clients through clear communication on pricing, scope adjustments, and project timelines to negotiate favorable terms. Prepare detailed spreadsheets for estimating material requirements, labor costs, and overall project budgets. Review contracts and ensure compliance with construction industry standards while managing risks associated with cost overruns or scope changes. Coordinate with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive pricing and reliable material delivery schedules. Read and interpret construction drawings accurately, ensuring all specifications are incorporated into estimates for precise bidding. Experience Proven experience managing projects as a construction estimator within the commercial construction industry. Strong background in construction estimating software such as HeavyBid, Xactimate, or similar platforms. Extensive knowledge of blueprint reading, technical drawing review, and interpreting construction plans. Demonstrated ability in cost management, material cost estimating, and estimating construction project budgets effectively. Familiarity with Bluebeam for digital document management and markup processes. Experience in negotiating contracts, pricing strategies, and client communication to secure favorable outcomes. Construction site experience is highly desirable to understand on-the-ground realities impacting estimates. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Excel spreadsheets for detailed analysis and reporting. Knowledge of construction management software systems used for scheduling, budgeting, and project tracking is a plus.
