Job:
The City of Colorado Springs is looking for a Concrete Finisher for their Public Works department. In this position, you will construct and maintain concrete infrastructure and perform a wide range of construction, maintenance, and equipment-operation duties. These duties include concrete work, site preparation, snow removal, material transport, and general infrastructure upkeep.Work Schedule:
6:30AM- 5:00PM; either Monday
- Thursday or Tuesday
- Friday depending on crew assignment after hire.
Knowledge of:
Operation and maintenance of the division's full range of heavy power-driven equipment Practices, methods, and materials used in general construction and maintenance work Traffic laws, ordinances, and rules related to heavy equipment operations Related occupational hazards and standard safety practices Methods and techniques of traffic control and pavement marking Basic principles of civil engineering Ability to: Safely and properly operate various hand and power tools Read and interpret maps, sketches, drawings, specifications, and technical manuals Perform basic mathematical calculations Interpret, apply, and explain pertinent laws, rules, and regulations as well as City policies and procedures Perform a variety of skilled construction and maintenance tasks Train and direct the work of others Communicate clearly and concisely, orally and in writing Equivalent to the completion of the twelfth grade (high school diploma or GED) Five years of full-time, professional experience in related field Possess, or obtain upon hire, and maintain a valid, non-probationary Colorado driver's license not subject to restriction related to alcohol and/or drug violations or pending charges Possess upon hire a Colorado Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) not subject to restriction related to alcohol and/or drug violations or pending charges Possess or willing to obtain a Colorado Class A CDL within (12) months of hire, not subject to restriction related to alcohol and/or drug violations or pending charges To be considered for this position you must register your CDL (COMMERCIALDRIVER'S LICENSE
