Job Overview:
The Concrete Foreman position is responsible for ensuring worksites are clean and safe, building forms, spreading gravel, using drills, jackhammers, and other power tools, and providing assistance with heavy machinery. You will also be responsible for smoothing the finishing surfaces of concrete as per the requirements and overseeing the concrete crew. Job Duties & Responsibilities- Noting the area to be worked on.
- Cleaning the surface before starting the project.
- Setting foams as per the concrete requirements and placing pin caps or impalement protection per OSHA.
- Instructing the ready-mix concrete truck drivers.
- Ensuring that the concrete is poured precisely.
- Assisting the truck drivers in discharging the cement properly.
- Setting and spreading the concrete.
- Paying attention to the level of the cement poured and have some knowledge of allowable sloping.
- Fixing the patches and holes in the concrete.
- Finishing and smoothing the concrete as per desired texture and pattern.
- Using hand and power tools as and when required.
- Keeping an eye on weather changes.
- Making use of hardening and sealing components if required.
- Cleaning and maintaining all the tools and equipment.
- Polishing the surface using power tools.
- Performing maintenance of the old concrete.
- Performing emergency on-call works.
- Adhering to all the government construction protocols. Qualifications -3 to 4 years' experience as a Concrete Foreman working in the Road/Bridge Construction Industry preferred
- Experience as a concrete finisher, concrete mason, or related role.
- Knowledge and understanding of hand tools.
- Problem solving to effectively and timely analyze and resolve issues.
- Attention to detail and ensure accuracy of work.
- Teamwork.
Abilities:
- Ability to perform strenuous tasks with hand.
- Ability to lift 50# consistently.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Establish and maintain an effective working relationship with other staff.
- Exercise sound, independent judgment within established guidelines.
- Express ideas clearly and concisely.
