This position focuses primarily on construction layout, line and grade control, and providing technical support to field teams. The successful candidate will be responsible for establishing accurate project control, interpreting construction documents, performing field measurements, and ensuring that layout activities are completed accurately and according to project requirements. Concrete Line & Grade/Layout Responsibilities Establish, verify, and maintain project control points used for construction layout. Perform line, grade, elevation , and dimensional layout activities throughout the project. Operate standard surveying and positioning equipment, including conventional and robotic total stations. Use appropriate field-data and layout software to collect and manage project information. Review architectural, structural, and civil drawings to confirm dimensions, elevations, coordinates, and other critical information before field work begins. Identify inconsistencies or conflicts within project documents and communicate them to the project team. Work closely with project leadership to coordinate layout activities with construction schedules. Provide accurate field measurements and layout information to superintendents, foremen, and other field personnel. Monitor the accuracy and quality of completed layout work. Maintain organized records of field measurements, control points, and survey activities. Assist the project team in resolving field conditions that could affect construction accuracy or progress. Concrete Line & Grade/Layout Qualifications One to two years experience as Concrete Forman in field engineering, construction layout, or a closely related construction discipline. Demonstrated ability to perform layout on large-scale commercial or industrial construction projects. Hands-on experience with total stations, robotic total stations, or comparable surveying equipment. Working knowledge of construction layout and field-data software. Understanding of coordinate systems , geometry, elevations, and calculations used in layout work. Ability to interpret architectural, structural, civil, and other construction drawings. Familiarity with standard commercial and industrial construction practices. Proficiency with standard office productivity software (Microsoft Office). Strong organizational , analytical, communication, and problem-solving abilities. Ability to work effectively with superintendents, project managers, and subcontractors. Experience with major structural elements or structural shell construction is preferred. Concrete Line & Grade/Layout Desired Background The ideal candidate combines hands-on construction experience with strong technical skills in surveying and field layout. Experience supporting large commercial, institutional, or industrial projects is highly valued. Accuracy, attention to detail, technical judgment, and the ability to communicate field information clearly are essential to success in this position.
