This is a working foreman position. The selected candidate must be capable of supervising a crew while actively participating in concrete layout, forming, reinforcing, pouring, finishing, structural steel work, welding, fabrication, and jobsite cleanup. Applicants must have hands-on experience in concrete and welding, strong leadership skills, and the ability to complete projects safely, efficiently, and correctly. This is not an entry-level position. Transportation Requirement Reliable personal transportation is an absolute requirement. The Construction Foreman must be able to report to the designated meeting location or jobsite on time every scheduled workday. Applicants who depend on rides from crew members or supervisors will not be considered. Responsibilities Lead and supervise construction crews on residential and commercial jobsites Plan daily crew assignments and coordinate project activities Review project requirements, drawings, measurements, and specifications Lay out concrete, steel, and structural work accurately Establish proper grades, elevations, slopes, drainage, and concrete thickness Build, square, brace, and inspect concrete forms Install rebar, wire mesh, vapor barriers, expansion joints, and other reinforcement Perform and supervise concrete placement, screeding, floating, edging, jointing, troweling, and broom finishing Complete concrete pads, patios, sidewalks, driveways, extensions, footings, slabs, and similar projects Measure, cut, fit, assemble, and install structural steel and miscellaneous metal components Perform welding, including stick, MIG, and/or flux-cored welding as required Read and interpret basic construction drawings, welding symbols, measurements, and site plans Inspect welds, connections, forms, reinforcement, and completed work for quality and accuracy Verify material quantities, concrete yardage, steel requirements, and equipment needs Coordinate concrete deliveries, welding equipment, tools, materials, and crew members Identify and correct quality issues before they become costly problems Maintain a clean, organized, and safe jobsite Follow all company safety procedures and applicable OSHA requirements Keep the project manager or owner informed of progress, delays, material needs, and problems Communicate professionally with customers, subcontractors, vendors, inspectors, and crew members Track employee hours and daily project progress when required Protect surrounding structures, landscaping, and customer property Ensure completed work meets company standards and project specifications Required Qualifications Proven hands-on experience in concrete construction and finishing Proven hands-on welding and metal fabrication experience Previous crew-leadership or foreman experience Reliable personal transportation Strong understanding of grades, elevations, slopes, drainage, concrete thickness, and structural layout Ability to accurately read measurements, project drawings, basic site plans, and welding symbols Ability to calculate square footage, cubic yardage, material quantities, and basic dimensions Ability to safely operate welding machines, grinders, saws, drills, and other construction equipment Ability to organize workers and keep projects on schedule Knowledge of concrete tools, welding equipment, power tools, and jobsite safety procedures Ability to inspect welds and concrete work for quality, alignment, strength, and appearance Ability to identify and correct mistakes before they become costly problems Dependable attendance and a strong work ethic Professional communication and customer-service skills Ability to work outdoors in Louisiana heat, cold, and changing weather Ability to safely lift and carry at least 80 pounds Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb, and perform physical labor throughout the workday Ability to work safely around hot metal, sparks, fumes, concrete, heavy equipment, and elevated work areas A valid driver's license and acceptable driving record may be required to operate company vehicles or equipment.

Preferred Experience Construction Foreman:

1 year Concrete construction and finishing: 3 years Welding and metal fabrication: 2 years Experience with stick, MIG, or flux-cored welding Experience with structural steel, handrails, gates, frames, brackets, or miscellaneous metal work Skid-steer, mini-excavator, concrete saw, cutting torch, or similar equipment experience Experience leading residential and light-commercial construction projects Welding certifications are preferred but not required Schedule Primarily Monday through Friday Start times may vary depending on the project, concrete delivery schedule, and welding or fabrication requirements Early mornings, extended hours, or occasional weekend work may be required due to weather, pour conditions, or project deadlines What We Are Looking For We need a dependable Construction Foreman who can take responsibility for a project from layout through completion, lead by example, maintain quality standards, and hold the crew accountable. The right candidate will have strong concrete and welding skills, understand construction sequencing, and recognize that preparation, communication, safety, timing, and attention to detail are critical to successful work.
