Job Summary This is a hands-on working position, not a supervisory-only role. The Concrete Lead is expected to work alongside the crew every day while providing field leadership, directing daily work, maintaining productivity, and ensuring work is completed safely and to Randahl Construction's quality standards. The Concrete Lead will serve as the day-to-day leader of the concrete crew and communicate regularly with the Construction Coordinator regarding job progress, manpower, materials, scheduling needs, delays, and field conditions. Key Responsibilities Lead and work alongside the concrete crew in daily field operations. Direct daily crew activities and ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and according to project requirements. Review plans, scopes, measurements, elevations, and specifications necessary to execute concrete work. Perform and oversee commercial concrete work including demolition, excavation, forming, pouring, screeding, finishing, cutting, and removal. Communicate job progress, manpower, material needs, delays, and field conditions to the Construction Coordinator. Identify jobsite issues or work that may fall outside the original project scope and communicate them promptly. Operate and oversee proper use of skid steers/Bobcats, saws, power tools, and other concrete equipment. Maintain crew accountability, jobsite organization, safety, productivity, and quality workmanship. Qualifications Minimum 3-5 years of professional concrete construction experience preferred. Previous experience as a Concrete Foreman, Crew Lead, Lead Concrete Finisher, or similar leadership role strongly preferred. Strong hands-on experience with commercial concrete forming, placement, finishing, demolition, excavation, and jobsite preparation. Ability to read and understand construction plans, scopes, measurements, elevations, and specifications. Strong understanding of concrete construction methods, sequencing, equipment, and jobsite operations. Ability to lead and direct a crew while actively performing concrete work alongside them. Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills. Experience operating skid steers/Bobcats and common concrete construction equipment preferred. Valid driver's license required. Must be able to meet company pre-employment screening requirements. Working Conditions Work is performed primarily on active commercial construction jobsites throughout the Twin Cities metro and surrounding areas. Regular lifting, carrying, bending, kneeling, standing, climbing, and other physically demanding construction activities are required. Work is performed indoors and outdoors and may involve varying weather and jobsite conditions. Must be comfortable working around construction equipment, concrete operations, demolition, excavation, dust, noise, and other typical jobsite conditions.
