Job Description
The Traveling Concrete Plant Laborer supports the daily operations of a concrete production facility by performing general labor duties, maintaining a clean and safe work environment, and assisting plant operators with the production and delivery of quality concrete materials. This position is responsible for ensuring the plant operates efficiently while adhering to company safety standards and procedures. • Must be willing to travel between plant sites which are located in Lawrence, KS and Kansas City, MO • Essential Duties and Responsibilities Perform general housekeeping and cleanup throughout the plant, including sweeping, shoveling, and removing debris. Assist with loading and unloading materials used in concrete production. Clean and maintain mixers, conveyors, aggregate bins, silos, and other plant equipment. Monitor material levels and assist with inventory management. Help perform routine maintenance and repairs on plant equipment and facilities. Operate hand tools, power tools, and other equipment as needed. Assist plant operators with batching and concrete production activities. Direct truck traffic and assist drivers entering and leaving the plant safely. Identify and report equipment malfunctions, safety concerns, and maintenance needs. Follow all company safety policies, environmental regulations, and operational procedures. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications High school diploma or GED preferred. Previous construction, manufacturing, quarry, aggregate, or concrete plant experience preferred Ability to work in outdoor environments and varying weather conditions. Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting up to 50 pounds regularly. Basic mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn plant operations. Reliable transportation and dependable attendance. Ability to work extended hours, weekends, and overtime when required.
