Vertex People Solutions specializes in recruitment and business development for the Architecture, Engineering, and Construction (A/E/C) industries. With expertise in the unique demands of these fields, we identify and recruit professionals with specific skills that align with our clients' needs and culture. Acting as an extension of your team, we ensure seamless integration of new hires who are equipped to meet project deadlines and contribute to long-term goals. Our commitment to delivering tailored staffing solutions makes us a trusted partner for businesses in the A/E/C sectors. Our client self-performs concrete. This position runs those crews in the field — footings and foundations, foundation walls, interior slabs on grade, and exterior flatwork and site concrete — across multiple active projects at the same time. The Foreman owns the work in the ground: layout, forming, placement, finishing, crew productivity, and quality. They set daily manpower against the schedule, coordinate ready-mix, rebar, pump, and equipment, and work directly with the project team on sequencing and look-ahead planning. Self-performed concrete is where our margin, schedule, and reputation are made or lost, so this seat carries real weight. Core Responsibilities Run multiple concrete crews across concurrent jobsites; set daily manpower, sequencing, and priorities. Layout and grade verification; forms, embeds, elevations, and reinforcing installed to drawing and specification. Footings, piers, grade beams, foundation walls, slabs on grade, exterior flatwork, and curb. Formwork — gang, panel, and job-built systems; shoring, bracing, and concrete carpentry.
Own pour day:
pre-pour checklist, mix and ticket verification, placement, finishing, joint layout, and cure. Quality control — flatness and levelness, joint spacing, saw cutting, finish consistency, and punch resolution.
Site safety leadership:
daily huddles, hazard review, fall protection, silica, and excavation awareness. Material ordering and vendor coordination with ready-mix, rebar, pump, and equipment suppliers. Train and develop finishers and laborers; hold the crew to a consistent standard of quality and safety. Daily reports, photo documentation, and quantity tracking back to the project team. Required Experience 7+ years in commercial concrete, with 3+ years leading a crew as foreman or lead. Track record on large-scale commercial concrete packages — multi-million-dollar concrete scopes are a strong plus. Proficient in formwork and concrete carpentry; able to build and set forms, not just supervise them. Reads structural drawings, rebar shops, and specifications; can run layout from a control line independently. OSHA 10 minimum (OSHA 30 preferred); valid driver's license and clean record.
